Prada-inspired Faux Fur Necklace – Quick Stuff to Sew (Holiday ’10)

In the latest issue of Quick Stuff to Sew, you can find an article by me in the Snappy Accessories section. For the project, I looked to a necklace by Prada that cost a few grand, however I got the look in less than $15.

Use the hottest fabric of the season to create a statement necklace. All things fur are designer favorites on the runway this season, so incorporating this luxurious textile into jewelry is a no-brainer.

Here, faux fur fabric is sewn into tubes and then joined together with painted wooden rings to create a textural, large-link chain necklace. Follow the examples here, or change the color, texture, or the wooden ring finish to create different looks that can be made to suit any style
