Prep’s Cool Coat – Adorn (Fall ’07)

In the latest issue of Adorn, you can find a coat I refashioned in their story “Prep’s Cool.” To get the look, I embellished a double-breasted coat with double-fold bias tape I made from contrasting plaid fabric. Then I replaced the white buttons with pink ones to offset the bias tape. From Adorn:

“Prep’s Cool: Make your way to the head of the class with easy embellishment ideas for a smart, street-savvy look that’s always in style.

Update last fall’s coat with a quick bit of sewing and button switcheroo. Choose any fabric you like. This bias-tape trim will accent the garment’s details and give a pop of color. TIP: Crunched for time? Start with pre-made bias tape. ”
