Totally Floored

When it gets warm outside, Michael disappears as much as he can to Cape May Point, New Jersey. His family has a place there where a few weeks ago we spent a weekend eating way too many jelly beans and trying to keep warm by a poorly-made fireplace fire (the weather man lied to us and the house has no heater). Last summer during my first trip out there, I fell completely in love with the floors in the house. They’re solid wood with a covering centered in each room that I think is linoleum. The coverings have printed motifs resembling vintage rugs or wallpaper, and each room has a different design. They’re perfect for a beach house because you can sweep up the sand and mop up any sticky wet footprints. My parents had faux wood floors that felt like these in the ’80s, but I’ve never seen any so ornate before. I absolutely adore them.

Me as Rachel
Instead of waiting an entire year to post about my Halloween costume results this time around, I’m actually posting them in a somewhat timely manner. One month isn’t too late, right? I’m still healing from the injuries I received from that night, so I’m assuming it’s still cool. (Note to... Continue Reading
