It’s so Real

While in my doctor’s waiting room around 9pm, I was privy to a rather heated argument outside:

Man 1: Hey Jason, when we gonna head back to your girlie’s place, man?
Jason: What? I done told you to call me The Deal.
Man 1: What?
Jason: You know. Like, the real deal and shit.
Man 1: Man, that only barely makes sense.
The Deal: That’s enough for me. That’s enough for The Deal.

Tiny Chucks for Tiny Daniel
It might be safe to say I’m a little obsessed with Chuck Taylors. I have approximately 10 pairs in almost every color, however I almost always wear one of my two favorite pairs. You’d think my pair of orange ones were part of my anatomy since they were attached to... Continue Reading

Dorm Decor on Etsy!
Today on Etsy’s blog is a project from my book Dorm Decor. Check out the tutorial from this week’s How-Tuesday to see how to make a no-sew, cut-out zebra rug. This year’s Project Runway season premiere was broadcast last night and it was just as drenched in drama and tears as I had hoped (seriously what good is reality TV really if someone isn’t crying?) Each week I’ll be doing a recap of the episodes on the SewStylish website, and... Continue Reading

Not your grandma’s slideshow
There were several things my family made me sit through as I was growing up, but slideshows were never one of them. Perhaps I just missed that phase in technology, or maybe my family took pity on me. A few weeks ago my friend Daniel and I went to see... Continue Reading

and the sea beckons…
Last year Jessie and I pulled an all-nighter right before the Coney Island Mermaid Parade, getting our costumes together. Typically the Mermaid Parade is an excuse for folks to done themselves with body paint and little else. However, that’s not really my style so Jess and I usually like to... Continue Reading

Playing Santa
Please pardon the horrible photo above. It was taken with my phone moments before the box was closed and handed over. Work has consumed most of my life this holiday season, however I was able to squeeze out a present that I was actually proud to give away this weekend–my... Continue Reading
