Moschino Hair Band Project with a Twist

Now that I have long hair, I love finding new hair accessories to not only wear but to pull my mane back out of my face. Now on the Sewing Republic website is my Twist and Shout Headband project made from faux silk. The above headbands are from the spring 2011 RTW Moschino collection and feature a knot in the middle of each band. This look can be achieved very easily with the Twist and Shout headband tutorial by simply widening the pattern and tying a knot in the fabric strip before attaching the backing. Below is a picture of me wearing the headband for Sewing Republic, which is a great way to get rid of any scraps you have left over.

Free Infinity Scarf Project
It’s almost April, but for those of us living in NYC, you can’t tell from the weather. Instead of arranging springtime bocce matches in the park this year, I’ve been spending my spring mostly indoors, or bundled up so far. If you’re like me and still need to keep staying... Continue Reading

Legwarmer project on BurdaStyle
Check out the BurdaStyle blog today for my tutorial on spat-style legwarmers. These took me less than an hour to make and use up less than a yard of knit fabric. They’re the perfect project for using up remnants and buttons from your stash. When creating tutorials, getting the final... Continue Reading

Tiny Chucks for Tiny Daniel
It might be safe to say I’m a little obsessed with Chuck Taylors. I have approximately 10 pairs in almost every color, however I almost always wear one of my two favorite pairs. You’d think my pair of orange ones were part of my anatomy since they were attached to... Continue Reading
